Rebekah is an artist with a video camera, and utterly reliable in that role. She is a gifted editor with that rare capacity to recognize a story and produce it from the footage presented to her.

Hawaii Coral Reef Initiative

May 24, 2010

To Whom It May Concern:
As the Program Manager for the Hawaii Coral Reef Initiative (HCRI), it is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Rebekah Blizzard.
HCRI's mission is to increase understanding of Hawaii's valuable, yet vulnerable, near-shore reef ecosystem in the state. We fund scientific research and monitoring in order to advance effective resource management within our state. We also support outreach and education.

Rebekah Blizzard worked for us from December 16, 2009 to May 5, 2010 as a Research Assistant. Her primary duty was to format the layout in each lesson of our six unit marine science curriculum, called Reef Pulse Hawaii. This curriculum is designed to educate young children about Hawaii's near-shore ocean environment. Rebekah used InDesign to lay out the curriculum and Photoshop and Illustrator to re-size the drawings. Rebekah cleaned up our layout template. She worked closely with the editors and illustrator to place illustrations and occasionally make text edits. She also kept files organized on our ftp.

Rebekah was a huge asset to the project. We benefited from her attention to detail and knowledge of the software. We also appreciated her organization in her daily reports and that she took initiative to solve problems, such as file sharing when our server went off-line. She was able to work independently in identifying problems in her assigned tasks and find solutions. She designed appendix pages and made suggestions for a few lessons concerning layout and color format to avoid potential problems when printed. All lessons were subjected to her review after the final edits were made. I would highly recommend Rebekah to any employer, she was a wonderful employee.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require additional information. I can be reached at (808) 277-4710 or Charissa@hawaii.edu.

Sincerely,
Risa Minato
HCRI Program Manager

Beverly Community Access Media

October 17, 2009

To Whom It May Concern:
As an active hands-on Board President, I have a considerable about of direct involvement with staff. My observations about Rebekah Blizzard come from that direct experience of her work.

It is always a great personal pleasure to be able to report positively and Rebekah affords me that opportunity. In her role as Studio Associate, she saw BevCam through several managerial as well as other staff changes. During traditions of personnel, she became responsible for our continuity of operation teaching incoming staff our studio procedures.

She is an eager learner, flexible thinker and problem solver in production. Her interest in graphic design enabled and facility with computer software led to the development of our website along with enhancement of our bulletin board (http://www.bevcam.org)
One recurrent refrain I hear from out access producer user base is about her patience and willingness to provide support and genuine concern for people to have a positive experience in access production.

In brief, she is technically adept and comfortable with video production hardware. As well, she is very much at home with computers and software for graphic presentations and video editing. And she has worked for us long enough for all of us to attest to her steadiness over the course of many difficult problem solving experiences. I will miss her willingness to engage with management at the Board level to present her ideas and suggestions for the betterment of our operation and our mission of serving our public.

Sincerely,
Donald S. Berman
President of the Board of Directors

Champlain College

April 19, 2005

To Whom It May Concern,
This is a letter of recommendation for Rebekah Blizzard. Rebekah worked as an intern from February 2005 through April 2005 for Willard and Maple. Willard and Maple is the Champlain College literary magazine, though we also take art submissions. We have published writers and have readers all over the world.
During the time Ms. Blizzard interned with us, she designed and built a website for Willard and Maple. She took the job very seriously and put a lot of effort into making her work look professional. It was a pleasure working with her.

Sincerely,
Jim Ellefson

Mount Washington Observatory

October 14, 2004

To Whom It May Concern,
This is a letter of recommendation for Rebekah Blizzard. Rebekah worked as an intern from June 2004 through mid-August 2004 in the Graphics and Publications Department of the Mount Washington Observatory. During that time she helped with all aspects of completing various graphics projects, as well as designing several pieces herself. Her work has been published in the Fall 2004 Issue of Windswept, the Observatory's membership periodical.
Rebekah displayed a willingness to learn, keen interest and a positive attitude toward all work she was involved in.
It is my feeling that Rebekah would be an asset to any business as an employee.

Sincerely,
Virginia Moore
Graphics and Publications Coordinator
